Coffee
QCoffee
This may be the only place in the country that serves a lighter roast. Most places are still over-roasting, but QCoffee is different. Convenient location in the center of the city and friendly, enthusiastic staff!
Beer
Save the Ales
Just south of downtown Bishkek near a youth hostel is a craft beer garden. It was closed for renovations when we visited, but all signs indicate good beers and cool atmosphere. Apparently, Save the Ales, is the country’s first craft brewery, founded by two local women. We’re now doubly bummed we missed it when we visited!
Steinbrau
Tucked away in a residential neighborhood southeast of Bishkek city center is a German brew pub and biergarten. Once you step inside you’re whisked away to a place that feels like Munich in the early 1990s. Pretty amazing. This place brews up a fairly wide selection of traditional German styles.
